Camp Hike & Bike: Tiny House on Stilts

This brand new retro-style tiny house here in the Harpers Ferry Historic District is themed after a 1940s Park Service cabin, but has all the latest comforts. You’ll find it a great spot for outdoor enthusiasts visiting the AT, C&O Canal Towpath, Harpers Ferry National Historic Park, Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers, and more!

The cabin features equal indoor/outdoor living spaces, each 8 feet x 16 feet. Inside is a full bathroom with luxurious rainshower head. The comfy king-size bed can be converted to 2 twins if requested. A minifridge, microwave, toaster, and French press are available, along with dishware. Fully insulated with heating and cooling for all-season comfort inside.

Outdoors is an 8′ x 16′ screened porch with ceiling fan, comfy seating, kitchen table and sink. Enjoy lush garden views from both inside and out.

The location is private, situated in a quiet neighborhood, yet in walking distance to all the great HF activities and dinner restaurants. Note that the cabin has wifi but no TV.

Here’s the review from our first guest:

“This tiny home more than exceeded my expectations! The pictures looked great but then when I arrived, it was even more adorable than I could imagine! Every detail has been thought through down to the smallest little touch to keep the 1940s theme! The screened in porch is such a peaceful and cool retreat to sit and read or have a cup of coffee overlooking the gorgeous gardens below. There isn’t a think I would change about this cabin and was a terrific stay!” — Teresa, June 2019

Knott Cabin with Sleeping Loft

Built in the 1940’s Knott Cabin, is a one-bedroom cedar-shingled cabin in the woods, a short walk from the Potomac River. This peaceful cabin is updated with stylish mid-century modern furnishings. Enjoy a recently remodeled bathroom with tiled walk-in shower, barn door, vessel sink and heated floor. It also features a loft bedroom, a cozy west-facing front porch with rocking chairs, and a shady side patio with table/chairs, fire pit and charcoal grill.

You’ll be close to Shepherdstown (10 min. drive) and not far from Harpers Ferry (20 min. drive). We took over Knott Cabin in May 2019 from a previous Airbnb superhost who had accumulated a perfect record of 226 five-star ratings!

Highlights from Recent Reviews :

“This was perfect…. The photos on the website are 100% accurate. The place was spotless. There was nothing we needed. Everything about it was super comfortable and relaxing. Our favorite “touches” were the rocking chairs on the front porch, the awesome shower, the Echo Dot, the coffee decanter, and I could just go on and on…”

“What a beautiful place to stay.. secluded & peaceful while only a short drive to either Shepherdstown or Harper’s Ferry! The cabin is very clean & decorated beautifully with extra touches like a waffle station, ingredients for s’mores, coffee & great smelling soap & shampoo. You will not be disappointed! We would definitely stay here again!” — Jennifer, June 2019

The kitchen includes microwave, convection toaster oven, blender, mini-fridge, and a waffle maker with mix provided! Complete coffee and tea station including whole beans, grinder, Chemex and electric kettle. (NO STOVE.) The sleep loft has an Ikea queen bed and fresh linens.
