The location is private, situated in a quiet neighborhood, yet in walking distance to all the great HF activities and dinner restaurants. Note that the cabin has wifi but no TV.
Here’s the review from our first guest:
“This tiny home more than exceeded my expectations! The pictures looked great but then when I arrived, it was even more adorable than I could imagine! Every detail has been thought through down to the smallest little touch to keep the 1940s theme! The screened in porch is such a peaceful and cool retreat to sit and read or have a cup of coffee overlooking the gorgeous gardens below. There isn’t a think I would change about this cabin and was a terrific stay!” — Teresa

Step Back-n-Time | Peaceful Apt in Historic Church
This building was the former St. John’s Episcopal Church, built in 1899. The fellowship hall was added onto the back in 1955, and we converted it into a cozy cottage-feel apartment with a full kitchen and great bathroom. It features an authentic, top-of-the-line 1950s range for cooking / baking (instructions too!), and you’ll find lots of kitchen necessities, including a microwave, toaster, coffee maker, electric pot, and French press. The bathroom has been modernized and has a shower with rainfall showerhead.
Roku TV for your favorite streaming apps plus some live TV options. Games and books are available for rainy or chilly days when you’re stuck inside.
Outdoors, Adirondack chairs and a picnic table provide seating for relaxing and dining. Staying at the back of the church means you’re shielded from all the street noise. The church backs up to a peaceful wooded ravine, where deer and groundhogs visit regularly. Feel free to explore the woods!
Your retreat is located in the Harpers Ferry residential Historic District. It’s two doors down from a great bakery and in walking distance from restaurants, shops, the Harpers Ferry National Park, the Appalachian Trail Conservancy Headquarters, and the C&O Canal Towpath Trail.
There’s free off-street parking in back of the church.
